The National Institute of Pension Administrators (NIPA) is a national association representing the retirement and employee benefit plan administration profession. It was founded with the idea of bringing together professional benefit administrators and other interested parties to encourage greater dialogue, cooperation, and educational opportunities. NIPA’s goal is to improve the quality and efficiency of plan administration.

About Sal Tripodi

Sal L. Tripodi was ASPPA president 2007-2008.  He currently maintains TRI Pension Services, a nationally-recognized consulting practice in the employee benefits area. Through TRI Pension Services, Mr. Tripodi authors a six-volume ERISA reference guide entitled “The ERISA Outline Book.” Additionally, Mr. Tripodi is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver Graduate Tax Program, a member of the Board of Directors of ASPPA(he also chairs the Legislative Relations Subcommittee of the ASPPA Government Affairs Committee). Mr. Tripodi began his employee benefits career with the Internal Revenue Service as a Tax Law Specialist (National Office 1979-83). Since 1983, he’s been in the private sector consulting on employee benefit matters, writing reference materials concerning employee benefit plans, and conducting numerous seminars. In 2001, Mr. Tripodi was named by ASPA as Educator of the Year. Mr. Tripodi obtained his J.D. at Catholic University of America Law School in 1979, and an LL.M. at Georgetown University School of Law in 1983.
